Seascapes
I'm not really sure if I like the sea more than the hills. Maybe it just depends on the mood.
Almost all the photos on this page have been shot with Ultra wide angle lenses like the Sigma 10-20 & Canon 10-18 on Dx cameras and Sigma 15-30, Nikon 18mm & Nikon 20mm on Fx.
Dolphin Point Lighthouse
There are 3 lighthouses around Bombay Harbour and this is one of them...the second one is "Prongs Reef" which i shot some years ago from the united services club at navy nagar. The third is called Sunk Rock - never taken photos of that one.
Dolphin point was built somewhere around 1850 and still works i think. These lighthouses flash a white light in one direction and red in others to guide ships into Bombay harbour. Atleast they used to...not sure if they help in anyway since most ships have modern navigational equipment these days and so do pilot vessels...maybe its useful for smaller fishing vessels and boats...an ex-navy master mariner once told me it feels like home when u see a familiar light while bringing ships in...even though electronics tell you where you are and where you need to go it doesn't feel you are back home till you see familiar landmarks flashing at you on a dark night :)
Maybe the guy was just pulling my leg...or getting sentimental in his old age ;)
