Landscapes
Then you get back home and realise that the photo isn't all that great...so you go back and try again :)
I've shot most of these photographs with Ultra wide angle lenses like the Sigma 10-20 & Canon 10-18 on Dx cameras and Sigma 15-30, Nikon 18mm & Nikon 20mm on Fx. For a few photos I've used slightly longer lenses like the 28mm, 50mm and 90mm.
Most of the photos have been shot using GNDs, ND and CPL filters.
“Landscape photography is the supreme test of the photographer – and often the supreme disappointment.” – Ansel Adams.
Through the Looking Glass
“A tale begun in other days...
When summer suns were glowing.
A simple chime, that served to time..
The rhythm of your rowing.
Whose echoes live in memory yet...
Though envious years would say 'forget.”
I always wanted to shoot a waterfall that looked different from what every other photographer has. Got this in the month of August with a 10 second exposure from a borrowed ND filter and a borrowed tripod on one of the most fruitful photo trips I've done in the rains.....It also was the first time I realised that my D700 actually works when its raining. Infact I had more problems with rain water than the camera did.
