Then you get back home and realise that the photo isn't all that great...so you go back and try again :)
I've shot most of these photographs with Ultra wide angle lenses like the Sigma 10-20 & Canon 10-18 on Dx cameras and Sigma 15-30, Nikon 18mm & Nikon 20mm on Fx. For a few photos I've used slightly longer lenses like the 28mm, 50mm and 90mm.
Most of the photos have been shot using GNDs, ND and CPL filters.
“Landscape photography is the supreme test of the photographer – and often the supreme disappointment.” – Ansel Adams.

A fiery sunset, the wind howling like it always does in hills and a precarious perch with the shutter open for 2 seconds, camera mounted on a sturdy tripod.
The euphoria of getting a keeper soon evaporates when you realise that you are in the same mess that you've been getting into quite frequently these days - far away from civilization with a light drizzle that turns into a storm.
I curse myself for wanting to shoot sunsets that look different and wearily begin the climb down the hill in the dark.
Nostalgia is a dirty liar that insists things were better than they seemed!
Shot in the days when cameras had CCD sensors and 8 megapixels was more than enough for everyone.
